Dr. Paul Zarda is an Orlando-based professional who is known for inventing the ‘Zarda-Top-Spin-Racquet’ or Z-TSR. This racquet is designed in such a way that it provides top spin to the ball by using a completely different design as compared to other racquets available in the market. Its sleek design causes the ball to exhibit a 50% increase in spin than a conventional racquet.
Zarda-Top-Spin-Racquet has an inner frame, which is under high tension when it makes contact with the ball. With the help of an isolation system, the inner frame is connected to the outer frame that allows the movement of the inner relative to the outer frame resulting in the additional spin when the ball is struck. Major attributes of the invention was to enhance a ball’s rebound spin as well as the accuracy of the ball’s trajectory. Another advantage of Z-TSR is to decrease the motion of the strings thereby extending the life as well as performance of the frame.
Paul Zarda’s invention allows for the adjustment of the in-plane Ky and Kx stiffnesses. If the racquet is swung where the motion of the head is not precisely parallel to the ground, the ball will still rotate about an axis parallel to the ground. This process results in a planar trajectory thereby enhancing the accuracy of the impacted ball.
Apart from his busy schedule, Dr. Paul Zarda loves to spend time with his family. He pursues his hobbies like playing tennis and the design and analysis of tennis racquets. He is also associated with 13,000 “alligator friends” at his home on Orlando’s Lake Jesup, Florida.
